Milwood Craft Club

A couple of days ago, I went to the first get-together for the Milwood Craft Club. It said all ages so I brought Sean but I think this is more of an adult or older child sort of event. There were over 10 people with diverse backgrounds and ages coming together to craft together. The crafts were diverse too.

For example, this was a cross stitch one of librarians was working on.

A girl in elementary school was working on this loom made from plastic straws.

The organizer was this young woman named Jennifer who also brought some crafts just in case some of us did not have anything to do. She had some pop-up cards and materials to make one of these Japanese figures.

I brought a lot of different crafts in my carrying case but none were really doable with Sean. While he colored the pop-up card, I was able to finish these alphabet rocks.

These are made from rocks we had collected during our hikes. Most of them are on the trail in back of our house that leads to Champions Park, Brushy Creek Park, and the duck pond on Great Oaks and Hairy Man. Here is my finished product. Jennifer actually did most of the folding because I had Sean with me. The hair was glued on a tad crooked so I decided to give her a windswept look.

Isn’t she cute? Even her obi is blowing in the wind! The Milwood Craft Club meets once a month so I have it marked in my calendar but next time, I think I will just go by myself and try to finish one of the many projects that I have started months or even years ago.
