Shipley’s Donuts Field Trip

We came late to the field trip so we missed the first part of the tour when they actually make the donuts. Did you know they come in at 2 AM to start the process? Yes, a career in donuts will not be in my future. We came right when they were showing the machine that is used to put the filling inside the donuts. The kids wanted chocolate filling so each one stood in line and was able to fill their own donuts.

While waiting, Sean tried to raid the sprinkles container.

Mmmm… donuts… They also gave us some donuts that they made that were imperfectly shaped. Before we left, we bought a donut for Dad. Sean picked out a chocolate donut with rainbow sprinkles and when it got home, there were still a few sprinkles on it.
